DESCRIPTION
Mars is a child robot created by Dr. Yamanoue and Dr. Kawashimo on the 3rd of February, 2015. He was designed to be the most powerful fighting robot in the world. His body was made by Director Yamanoue, but his electronic brain was made by Yamanoue's rival, Dr. Kawashimo. Jetter Mars is rambunctious, strong, curious and brave.
ABILITIES
Mars has a variety of special abilities, including the ability to fly by pressing the button on his belt and transforming his scarf into red V-shaped wings. He also has the ability to extend his range of hearing, and incredible strength is second to none. Mars can fly around at mach speeds, circling his opponents and smashing into them with incredible force.
Jetter Mars' fighting style is juvenile, and he has developed some of his own techniques. A technique that Mars uses frequently is the Vortex Punch, a move where he rapidly spins and launches himself at his opponent in a drill-like fashion.

Jetter Mars' birthday lines up with the first airing of the first episode of his show. Both were on the 3rd of February, with the episode airing in 1977 and Mars being born in 2015.
Jetter Mars bares a striking resemblance to one of Osamu Tezuka's most famous characters: Astro Boy. They even share the same voice actress in Japan: Mari Shimizu.
Jetter Mars, unlike Astro Boy, does not seem bound by laws enforced on robots which prevent robots from harming or killing humans, as Mars has harmed and even possibly killed a number of humans who have done wrong.
Mars' color palette switched around a lot during production of the show, resulting in the show depicting him first with black boots, then switching to dark blue boots. Beyond that, the show switches (seemingly at random) between dark blue briefs and cyan briefs for Mars. His eye color also changes between dark blue and cyan.
Jetter Mars was parodied in a 1977 manga titled "Go Go Goku" (ゴーゴー悟空) by Mangaka Nori Narui. This parodied Jetter Mars declares himself to be "Setter Mars" (せったーマルス )
Jetter Mars, alongside many other of Osamu Tezuka's characters, would make a cameo appearance near the end of a special from Tezuka Productions with a small redesign. This would be the only appearance of this design.
Mars, alongside other of Osamu Tezuka's characters, would appear in a 2003 game titled "Astro Boy: Omega Factor". After a short cutscene where Astro Boy and Jetter Mars exchange dialog, Astro Boy levels up. This would be the first time Mars appeared in any official English-language media.
Jetter Mars would serve as the inspiration for a major antagonist in a 2015 Astro Boy spin-off titled Atom: The Beginning
